China: The Real Deal is a small verification service for overseas buyers who are about to pay a Chinese supplier they have not worked with before.

Who is behind this

Our founder co-founded one of China's leading enterprise credit-service companies and has spent twenty years in big data and credit services. That work meant reading registry records, court filings and company paperwork every day, and watching overseas buyers get the same thing wrong: trusting an English trading name instead of the legal entity behind it. This service exists to answer the one question that matters before a deposit leaves your account.

We are not a law firm, not an inspection company, and not affiliated with any Chinese government registry. We read registry records and company paperwork and explain what they do and do not show.

How we verify

  • We start from the Chinese legal name and the 18-digit Unified Social Credit Code, never from an English trading name. If the documents you send do not let us identify one legal entity with confidence, we stop and ask for more, and refund if it cannot be resolved.
  • We check your documents against each other: licence, quotation, proforma invoice, beneficiary details. Inconsistencies are described, and we tell you which ones are common in legitimate trade and which ones are warning signs.
  • Every finding carries an evidence level: documented, registry-confirmed, or unverified. "No record found", "not covered by our data", and "lookup failed" are reported as three different things.
  • A person reviews every report before it is sent. Software helps us extract and translate; it does not decide.

What we do not do

  • We do not confirm production capacity, product quality, or delivery performance.
  • We do not confirm who owns a bank account. Only the receiving bank can do that.
  • We do not give a score. Scores hide what is actually known and what is not.
  • We do not sell, resell or store Chinese registry data. Files you upload are deleted 30 days after delivery.
