Questions

Is the code the same as a company registration number?

Since 2015 the Unified Social Credit Code replaces the older 15-digit registration number and the 9-character organisation code. A licence issued before then may still show the old numbers.

The code passes but the company name looks different. Why?

A code identifies a legal entity, not a brand. The English name on a quotation is usually a trading name chosen by the seller. Compare the Chinese legal name on the licence, not the English one.

Can a valid code belong to a company that no longer exists?

Yes. The code stays valid for a company that has been deregistered or revoked. Registration status lives in the registry, not in the code.
